This month's minutes ...
The April 21st meeting was called to order at 9:05am at the Crossroads Bar with 25 members present.
Treasurer’s Report: The financial summary from 9/16/06 to 4/20/07 was presented.
At our 2006 End of Year Party, 11 members rode and 26 members were there for the chili.
Membership Update! Letters were sent to all 2005 & 2006 members. We have 61 total family or single memberships for 2007 ... 2 are new and 9 from 2005 rejoined.
Donation of defibrillator to Twin Bridge Rescue was done to benefit the area. Contact any Board Member with ideas for a club donation for this year.
WATVA Trail Tales had no article or ad for Woodland Trails in February’s issue as there wasn’t any news. The club’s donation and clean-up day will be submitted for the June issue.
Woodland Trails decals for the back window of a truck or car are on order. Each membership gets one free and extras are $2.00. They are too large to mail so Jim Pecha will distribute them.
Hats are $10 and Jim has several styles. If you are interested in any screened or embroidered clothing Jim will order it for you by the piece. We will no longer carry a stock of clothing.
Meetings will not be held monthly. There will be a large Spring and Fall meeting and short meetings before rides or events such as the July 4th Parade.
Rides planned so far are listed on the website under events. Contact Roger @ rokalj@cs.com with ideas.
Marinette Co. Maps include our trail. Contact www.marinettecounty.com or 715-732-7530.
A Volunteer to coordinate our entry in the July 4th Parade is needed. Marissa’s Duck Race for C.F. is not being held this year and the club will not be doing raffles at the Wheel’s Pig Roast..
Trail Maintenance will be done by Iron Snowshoe Club as they get the funding for trail maintenance..
Woodland Trails opening date will be announced by Marinette Co. Chamber of Commerce. Dusty Trails always waits until at least May 1st to open because of an Oconto County ordinance.
Trail Expansion has been an ongoing project. Jerry & Bruce have been attending meetings at least monthly at the county and state level. A map of the proposed trail was presented.
PLEASE remember to set a good example when riding and remind others to do the same. People are watching and continue to make complaints about riders & noise & excess dust which adds another roadblock to trail expansion.
Adopt-a-Highway cleanup of Hwy. W followed the meeting.
The
meeting adjourned at 10:20 am.
