Meeting Minutes from 5/21/05
The May meeting at Wheel Inn was called to order at 9AM by vice president, Carl Christensen.
MINUTES from April were passed.
TREASURER’S REPORT was passed.
OLD BUSINESS
Updates: April newsletter mailed to 34 non-paid members - 14 sent membership dues. Color full page ad is in WATVA magazine Spring issue. Woodland Trails Pepsi banners are up at the businesses. Four new wooden information signs are up on the trail.
Will go with smaller trail maps until we get advertisers for maps.
Clean up day coming soon - date will be posted by Shane.
Park & Ride signs on Cty W will be moved further down from curve.
Wheel Inn Pig Roast Sunday May 29th. Help still needed between noon & 4PM to sit at membership/merchandise table. Contact Bruce or just come that day. Also help needed for cleanup - day & time to be announced by Lee.
Fund Raiser June 11th 11AM to 4PM. Help needed for setup Friday 8AM & cleanup Saturday 4PM. Raffle items needed. Also 2 gas grills, picnic tables & other tables needed. Contact Tony @ cyrmail@charter.net for more information. Carl will have set up: DNR safety issues & Safety Patrol Training Session.
July 4th Parade in Crivitz. Committee members & help with float needed. Also support encouraged for Coleman parade/picnic in July. Contact Mike @ motomann@charter.net.
NEW BUSINESS
Terry wrote an excellent letter to the Peshtigo Times in response to an article in their paper about ATV complaints.
Club Ride scheduled by Carl & Jerry Saturday July 16th. Club meeting @ 8:30AM followed by ride @ 9AM. Lunch in Lakewood. Meet at Park & Ride on Cty W & Bushman Rd.
First responder bag & 6 safety vests are at Corner Convenience. Clipboard there to sign in & out. Never patrol alone - always go in pairs!
Carl attended mapping & DNR class in Mosinee. Anyone born after Jan. 1988 needs mandatory safety course. Sign up coming soon for 6 hour DNR class.
Steve from Forestry Dept. attended meeting. #1 problem on trails is dumping/pollution and cutting of live trees. 95% of ATV’rs are cooperative. If you see a problem get a plate # and call 732-7600 for follow-up.
Discussion about trail expansion, connection to other trails and trail access.
